Alys' Water Works has a private indoor heated pool providing a clean and comfortable facility for year-round lessons and classes.

 

Private One on One Swim Lessons

We offer private one on one swim lessons which is an ideal environment for children and adults to focus on learning how to swim and to overcome their fears about water.

Children 3 yrs and older and/or adults will learn the basic skills needed in the water from water adjustment to learning the breast stroke. Following are the various levels of instruction:

·        Water Adjustment

·        Control Breathing

·        Reaching Safe Place

·        Basic Skills on Front: Prone float and flutter kick

·        Basic Skill on Back: Back float and Back glide plus Rollover Back float

·        Emergency Drill & Treading Water

·        Strokes: Free-Style, Side Breathing, Elementary Back Stroke, Regular Back Stroke and the Breast Stroke

Parent Toddler Classes

Parent and child 12 to 36 months will learn:

·        Water adjustment

·        Control Breathing

·        Prone Float & Back Float

·        Kicking

·        Passing the child

·        Climbing Out and Jumping In

·        Tadpole Swimming

Kids Water Fitness Classes (Summer Only)


Our kids water fitness classes are small with 6 participants per session. Targeted for kids ages 8 to 12. However younger kids ages 5 to 7 could participate as well.

 

Two 45 minute classes per week for 5 weeks (Summer 2010 Tuesday & Thursday afternoon). Each class will include 5 warm up exercises, 5 individual skills and drills , 5 group and/or partner activities and  finishes up with 5 warm down and relaxation exercises.  To keep the kids interest from  week to week,  we will use fun equipment such as balls, noodles  and buoyancy belts (for non -swimmers) are used  for agility, balance and coordination.
